A historic moment for DUX Gaming

One of the investments I’m most proud of is DUX Gaming.

This Madrid-based sports organization competes in international esports tournaments and Spanish Football Leagues. And now, it will also launch an NBA 2K League expansion team based in Mexico. This will be the first NBA 2K League team in Latin America.

DUX Gaming became the first esports organization to buy a semi-professional football club. It purchased DUX Internacional de Madrid in 2020. Earlier this year, the esports club also bought DUX Logroño, a Spanish women’s football second division team. DUX Gaming will break international boundaries in 2022. They will launch an NBA 2K League team based in Mexico, marking the first NBA 2K League team in Latin America and the second outside the U.S. and Canada.

As from the next NBA 2K League season in the spring of 2022, DUX Gaming will have its first NBA 2K League expansion team in Latin America. This is what NBA 2K League President Brendan Donohue had to say about this historic moment: “DUX Gaming has a demonstrated track record of growing its fan base in new and creative ways. This makes it an ideal partner to help the NBA 2K League successfully expand to Latin America, where basketball and 2K are already incredibly popular. We’re thrilled that DUX Gaming will represent Mexico in the NBA 2K League for years to come.”

It’s historic and an outstanding achievement for DUX to compete in the NBA 2K League, where they will represent the Spanish-speaking community. I am thrilled to know that I will see my team in one of my favourite competitions, writing esports history. Go, team DUX!
